

Spring Sun, Spring Snow
Yesterday we did our best to make use of the good weather – we finished getting all the garden beds prepped for planting, then built trellises for peas, and started planting! Big thanks to Carli, Will, and Nina for helping get so much done... because that night the snow came in a big way!


A little friend, lost...
Yesterday, we were sad to find that one of the goslings had died. We think it was Little Big Bird. We buried him, along with the other eggs that hadn't hatched, and planted a tree in his honor. His brother, Pip, lives on...


Greenhouse Update
Our greenhouse is bursting to the seems with seedlings, and today we did a round of transplanting. Cabbages, kales, and broccoli will be going out in the field soon!


Goslings!
On March 13th, Kerry went to let out the ducks and geese and thought she heard a little "peep!" sound coming from the goose nest. While we didn't see anything at first, later that day we were thrilled to discover that the very first gosling had hatched! The next day, there were two, and then mama decided she was done sitting on the nest and took her new babies out for their first foraging. A couple days later, these fuzzy yellow poofs of cuteness had their first swim! The


Blessing The Garden
We were glad to have visitors this week from the Lifeways teacher training. They put on a festival celebrating the beginning of spring, and we all planted the first of the spring seeds and seedlings together. Planting the first seedlings of spring. Blessing the garden and its freshly planted seedlings. An altar for the elemental beings, this one in honor of summer and fire.
