Raphanus sativusCherry Belle Radish has cherry-red skin and crisp, white flesh. Radishes are easy to grow, tasty, colorful and ready for harvest in just a few weeks. They are best if harvested during cool weather. At full size, the roots are round and about ¾” in diameter. This is a very early maturing variety and grows well in containers. Plant in shallow pots for microgreens and harvest just before the true leaves emerge. Add to salads, sandwiches or sprinkle on top of stews and other dishes as a spicy, crunchy garnish.Planting and Care: Directly sow the seed into rich well-amended soil beginning as soon as the ground can be worked in the spring. Repeat every 2 weeks except during hot weather. Water regularly and fertilize when plants have 4-6 leaves.Harvest: Pull plants when the roots are young and mild, about 1/2″ in diameter giving the remainder room to grow.Your Health: Radishes are good sources of Vitamin C, folic acid and potassium as well as other minerals.Radishes like to be planted with beets, bush beans, pole beans, carrots, chervil, cucumbers, lettuce, melon, nasturtium, parsnip, peas, spinach and any members of the squash family.
